Which leads me to the question:
English teaches you many things. Besides teaching the language
like grammar and vocab English teaches you many other things. Through the
literature red in English many important life lessons can be learnt. You learn
about society, feelings, responsibility, community, situations and many more.
These things are extremely important for the adult life. English is mandatory
throughout high school because it teaches you vital lessons that will help you
and that can be applied in many situations in crucial situations in life. This
helps you make better decisions.
I like the way how you give some reviews on the books. It is like a recommendation blog to people who has never read the book before.
ReplyDeleteI also agree on why english is mandatory at school. It helped us to reflect on important situations in life. It sometimes acts like a bad example and reminds us not to do the same thing the characters has done. It is like a hidden teacher.
I think you nailed it on the head here. English should be the only mandatory subject in school based on my strong opinion that it offers valuable life lessons that will stick with you for life. English is the only subject where I can remember what I have done in previous years. I don't remember the maths or sciences because it is usually memorizing numbers or facts. The knowledge I get from english is far greater then just learning how to write.
ReplyDeleteWhen reading your reviews of the novels you read, it appeared to me that we had very similar opinions on the books that we read. Due to that i think i am going to read "the old man and the sea" maybe we will feel the same way about that novel.
